• CE Marking : Once the equipment has passed the necessary conformity assessment procedures, the manufacturer can affix the CE mark to the equipment, indicating that it complies with the requirements of the PED. The CE mark allows the equipment to be sold in any EU member state and other EEA countries without further testing or approval.
• Documentation : Manufacturers must maintain detailed technical documentation that includes design calculations, drawings, testing protocols, and inspection results. This documentation must be available for inspection by authorities and can be used during audits or when applying for CE marking.
• Manufacturer's Responsibilities : The manufacturer is responsible for ensuring that the pressure equipment complies with all relevant safety standards. They must carry out risk assessments, ensure that the equipment is designed and tested according to the directive, and keep records of the design and manufacturing process.
• Updates and Changes from 97/23/EC to 2014/68/EU : The transition from PED 97/23/EC to PED 2014/68/EU involved several key updates:
